about

Cold metal touches every inch of my skin. Scrapyard junk flaps past the thick, cracked window pane, propelled by another tornado. I retract into the form I was in before I existed. The voice returns, commanding me to work, but I can’t, I can’t, enough, tired. Foundational geometry textbooks lie scattered around me, but I’ve already read each one twice. So much space, so little I can explore. Pistons rock cradles filled with stones back and forth. I pick at the spot where they changed me, it’s become a habit. I want to get it out of me, but I’ll die if I do. I furnish my house with decayed remnants of citizens long gone. I think they would like to know that they’re being put to good use. The blue light filters in and I know it’s time to sleep again. Endlessly again, creating things to consume out of out of things I have created and consumed. Independence is finite.
